Why am I receiving this invoice?

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission sent an Authorized Service Provider to assist you when your vehicle became disabled on our roadway.  At that time, the driver of the vehicle was unable to provide payment for the services provided (ex. changing a flat tire, jump starting the vehicle, or towing the vehicle to a safer location).  This invoice is for the services provided.

What are the charges?

  • $72.00 is for a tire change, fuel delivery, or a jump start
  • $108.00 is for a tow

I am a member of AAA.  Can I use my membership to pay the invoice now?

No, you are required to pay the Commission for the services provided.  You will need to contact AAA directly to find out how to request reimbursement for the payment you make to the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Why did the Authorized Service Provider not bill AAA at the time of services?

  • The driver or the passengers of the vehicle were not the AAA members
  • AAA membership covers an individual not the vehicle being driven
  • The AAA membership had expired
  • The driver of the vehicle did not have their AAA membership card available to show the Authorized Service Provider to verify the membership
  • The AAA membership was already used for 4 service calls that year and could not be billed for the service

I have Roadside Assistance through my auto insurance carrier. Can the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission bill my insurance company for the services provided?

No, you are required to pay the Commission for the services provided and seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
